JOSE MOURINHO has been told failure to beat Chelsea in the Champions League will not cost him his job.
Mourinho's Inter Milan have dominated Italian football in recent seasons but have failed to deliver in Europe.
The former Blues boss will be reunited with his old side in one of the biggest clashes of the last 16 stage.
And Inter president Massimo Moratti has promised Mourinho his future is not linked to the tie.
He said: "The coach will remain with us.
"The Champions League should not become an obsession or a complex for us.
"That's not the case for me, thanks to the fact that as a family, we have already won this title.
"We know, however, that we have to work from a psychological standpoint to overcome the first hurdle."
It might not be about the Inter board, so much as whether Mourinho wants to stay - he certainly doesn't seem too please to be there, and if Mancini doesn't perform at City, there is every chance he will be tempted to join another EPL club with deep pockets. I'm betting we'll see him at City within 18 months, but many won't be joining me! http://cli.gs/n1Mm9a
